Pune Schools Close on 12th Nov 2009- Bishops, St Mary’s, Vibgyor

Swine flu seems to be making it’s dreaded comeback with the pouring rains as anticipated by the WHO. I am aware of one case of swine flu in DPS, three in Bishops and also in St Annes that has closed down the school due to a case in the school. (The first unfortunate death of a student named Rita was from this school).

St Mary’s school will be closed tomorrow 12th Nov 2009 , due to rains cyclone. Phone 020 26333234
St Mary’s school has also sent a notice with a warning that kids need not attend the painting competition due to probable swine flu exposer.
Today, there were quite a few skeptical moms who went by their gut feelings and decided to keep their kids home. Do that, if you think it’s necessary.
My younger son started a running nose at the bus stop this morning , so we took an about turn to our home. He was so elated he gave me an involuntary hug.

Also Bishops schools have declared holiday tomorrow ie Thursday 12th Nov 2009.

Vibgyor High upto 5th std will be closed tomorrow. Phone 020 30446000

There is also a news in the TV channels about a cyclone that would be hitting the shores of Mumbai tomorrow 12th Nov 2009! I could feel the gust today in the morning with such forceful wind that my umbrella wanted to fly away from my clutches .

So I guess it’s time again to use our motherly instincts and decide how long we should send our kids to their schools. Do not be worried about missing the school portions as this year schools will have to be lenient with grades and no school will do any justice if they detain any kid.

Also if you read my article on swine flu, you can be sure there are still literate yet uneducated (?) parents who continue to send their kids to school with cold, flu and cough!

Weigh the pros of sending your kids with all the cons of the above factors and decide whatever is best for your kids. .
