Phonetics:

1: U

When   ‘U’  is alone in any word; it sounds like hindi alphabet       letter U alone

For example:    purr sounds like   hindi   purr

But whenever ‘A’  or  ‘E’   vowel comes after the alphabet ‘U’,  the sound changes to  the  hindi alphabet   you or    letter U with a vowel

for example:  Pure  will now sound as pure

More examples:

With Only U                  With U and any other vowel

Cut                                   Cure

Luck                                Lure

Dull                                  Dual

Sum                                  assume

dun                                   dune
