Compare Protinex and Complan childrens protein health drink supplement

compare protinex and complan

You all must have read my review on comparison of Complan, Boost, Bournvita, Horlicks. If not read it here  Ever since that article was published I found several parents requesting me to compare Protinex with Complan or review Protinex, Nutrilite and protein shakes for the health of their children. There is another high demand article by parents on Pediasure, that you can read here.

protines

So here it is.

To start with taste is very important factor for a supplement to be successful with children. But somehow that part is definitely won over by Bournvita, with their chocolatey and crunchy taste.

Complan and Protinex do not compete well with Bournvita and Boost in taste.

Yet, the prime reason for any parent to buy these expensive health drink supplements is not taste. It is the protein content in each scoop of the powder that matters. If there are any other ingredients that will help, even better reason to buy.

So here is the chart of the two protein health supplements for kids that should explain the difference. Also read the explanations to know the what and why.

But before that a quick review on how much protein we need.
The Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for protein, in grams, are:
Infants 0 to 6 months = 13gm;
Infants 6 to 12 months = 14gm;
Children 1 to 3 years = 16gm;
Children 4 to 6 years = 24gm;
Children 7 to 10 years = 28gm;

Now based on the tabular data below, this is my report.

Now that you know how much protein your child needs based on the RDA, lets compare the most important ingredient, protein in both brands, Protinex and Complan.

Protein Is definitely more in Protinex and their claim is true that it is the protein supplement with maximum Protein in one scoop.

Protinex has double protein (9.6GM) as compared to Complan’s (5.94GM).

Calcium is also nearly double the amount in Protinex (400mg) as compared to Complan (264mg).

Vitamin D is double in Protinex (100mcg) as compared to Complan (49.5mcg)

Energy  has also doubled in Protinex.

So a clear winner is Protinex. But it’s double the cost per drink as compared to Complan. So if you can double the quantity of Complan it becomes the same as Protinex. 🙂

For me the winners are both actually the same when it comes to value for money.

Hi, I am going to swimming daily and am trying to reduce my weight. At the same time I am drinking 2 spoons of protein X. Will that help or go against me.

Yes it will

It will help in the long run.

Hi iam a 29 year old a gym regular earlier i spent a lot of money on imported whey proteins and the results were satisfying but now my family is against me buying them and also now a days lot of fake proteins are in market at unbelieveable prices for almost 4 to 5 thousand now my trainer says protinex is not enough for you to build muscles please leme know about protinex can i go ahead with it as it comes at 388 rupees only is it worth it..il be waiting for ur reply regards mohit arora

Hi Mohit the proteins in protinex and other milk supplement s have fat too with loads of unwanted sugar. So its better to take pure protein. Instead of wasting money on protein powder that will make you dependent on these external things try to use natural food. Eggs are the purest form of proteins that human body can easily digest. Then chicken n fish. Eat 200gm fish mackerel or breast. Eat lots of ghee in each meal with least sugar and carbs. Ghee is known to reduce fat .

I want to know which is best between Protinex and Ensure? Please help.

If u wana justification first copare qwality ... As nuitrilite gives 80 %nutrition n complan 20 %

I want to build body. My age is 18 and i m a skinny boy. So, i thought to go to jim and drink protinex to get protein for muscle growth. Are you give any advice mam. Thank you in advance.

My daughter is 11 year old. Her height is 4feet 8 inches. We have bought protinex vanilla flavour. Please advise there is any protinex junior or we can use the above mentioned vanilla flavour of adults. Is drinking protinex increases height or only it has got vitamins.

Dear Suresh, I think she is perfectly fine as per the age and growth! Upto you to give her protinex or complan though she does not need it.

A year ago i had heard about Nutrilite kidz Drink and Herbalife kidz Dinoshake. when comparing these with others, Nutrilite does take the top seat ( link: http://amwaybusinessindia.blogspot.in/2011/05/features-and-benefits-of-health-kids.html) however Herbalife reviews says that it is not harmful as well. It would be grat to have your thoughts on these two. Going by you previous reviews as of now, Complan and Jr Horliks are best we can follow leaving behing Bournvita and others..

Sure Nitin, once I am done with the elections tomorrow where I am a polling agent of AAP, I will do loads of reviews of products for kids. And thanks for the wonderful comment. XOXO Madhurie Singh

Thanks a ton.. No she resists milk so will start giving her Protinex.

Hi Madhurie, Thanks for very nice article, my daughter is 4 year old and I am looking for good health drink. my wife is pushing for Amway nutrilite kids drink but I think protinex could have the same content as of Amway and price of Amway is much higher than Protinex.....could you please suggest me best one between Amway and protinex?

Dear Yogesh, Thank you. If your daughter drinks milk without any supplement, then no need to start her on anything! But if she does not like the taste and does not want to drink milk only then you need to add any milk supplement. I think Protinex is a great choice.

My son is 7 years old and his weight is 40 kg. He is a fussy eater Please tell me which health drink is best for him which does not increase his weight and has good amount of protein init

Hi Guneet, AT the onset thank you for reading my blog. I am not a certified health practitioner to guide you. I am an avid reader and researcher. So only based on the information I gather from the reputed sites I try to provide you information. Coming to your query, 7 yrs and 40KG! He is over weight. I would not give nay health drink as all have fat in them. Instead give him more vegetables, fruits before lunch and dinners. I am sure he must be eating chips, soft drinks and cakes. Control them.

Thanks

Thanks

Well honestly I have browsed thru the content list of Nutrilite and it really does not justify the cost!

Hi Madhurie I am 30yrs old and i go to gym regularly. Would taking protien x actually help me some muscle building and loosing fat.

Hi Ankush, Kindly post your query in www.schoolkhojo.com. http://www.schoolkhojo.com/index.php?/user/forum/index/9

Well its not just protinex that will help. You may need 3-4 eggs every meal too. a piece of fish or chicken too. I guess whey powder 30gm per day after workout really helped me. Since you are a male you may take 50-60 gm. I would not depend on kids' health supplement as they contain loads of fat too. Did that help you?

Soy is a natural and safe product. Sometimes when there is a brand fight, there are misleading articles and facts spread by competitor ingredient manufacturers. So when in doubt, find out if it was used in the last 100 years by your ancestors and how long they lived. Chinese use soy extensively and with a good healthy lifestyle they are oldest living after french.

LOL, ofcourse, I did not mean to literally double the scoop in one drink! Yes if you want that much protein, all you have to do is make one more glass for your child. Sometimes words can be interpreted in so many ways. And mine are always more so entangled. Thanks for pointing it out. By the way, there is no added sugar in complan as per their claim.

A very nice comparison Madhuri. However both cannot be same even on cost counts. Meaning that you'll NOT put 2 scoops of Complan to equate the protein intake of Protinex, the drink will be just too sweet to drink. From my view Protinex wins... Price is always a factor, bit it cannot be factored for nutrient comparison.

Totally agreed, what’s kid’s body capacity to absorb the ingredients? That should also be considered I think.
