Dear parents,

I know you are hassled and fretting to find the right school, board, teachers, curriculum etc for your child.

So once again starting this page to ask me questions related schools, boards, admission, teachers etc.

Each family is unique, your needs, preferences and requirements will be different. Hence, a school that is good for me may not be good for you.

Try to reply in the comment with details so that its not guess work for me.

When you ask a question, mention, age and grade of the child, current school name in full, area and if possible school link to make it easy for me to check it out before replying.

If you are not happy with a school, mention the reasons as I do not want to guide you to another school with same issues.

If the question is needs more than one 2 lines of reply, then you will be asked to book phone consultation as everything is not black and white.

    I am looking for Jr.KG admission for my daughter in Hadapsar/Camp area. But it seems admission process for all good schools is complete. Can you please advise if admission is still available in any school for this year.

  2. Hi Mam,

    I’m looking for school admissions in senior kg for my child in PCMC area. My preference of board is CBSE, however, in PCMC area, the only option for good CBSE school is either Blossoms or Podar. In Blossoms , it is admission only against vacancy and Podar, I’m really not sure if its really good in academics atleast. Because of which I’m thinking if going for ICSE schools like Wisdom / Euro is a better decision.

  4. Hi Madhurie ji..
    My son is 4.4 now and is a Spectrum (autism) kid. He is undergoing therapies past 2years . Could you please suggest some (any) integrated schools in NiBM or Kondhwa area? A number of schools suggest shadow teachers but rarely assist/accept responsibility when it comes to RTE.
    Kindly help.

  5. Hello Madhurie mam,

    I have applied to many schools, but did not get in first list or some schools told us to check in March/April for standard 1. Right now, available options are Wisdom World Wakad, GIIS Chinchwad, Swadha and DLRC. Which one would you suggest would be good school among these?

  7. My kid was born in Dec 2013. He is in Jr Kg in Kidzee. Many schools in Pune have said that he doesn’t qualify for SrKg (UKG) admission in 2018 and he has to repeat Lkg. Can you let me know the pros and cons of repeating Lkg in a proper school vs repeating it in pre_primary like lexicon or little millenium

    Request if you could suggest which school is better between VIBYOR, Sanskruti and Euro School, all three at Undri/NIBM Location.

    We had shifted to Pune from Delhi last year and my child is currently studying in Grade 2 at VIBGYOR NIBM since the last 10 months. We have applied to DPS now and would like your views on which school is better. Both ICSE and CBSE board are fine with us. I believe you have been a parent at both DPS and VIBGYOR. Comparisons between both schools would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help .

  19. Hello Mam – We are based in USA for last 11 years. Planning to move to Pune mostly live in Amanora by next year.
    My elder one will be in grade 6th and younger one will be entering 1st grade.
    Looking for schools in magarpatta side. I would like to know which are better among the lot. Would like to keep travel low for kids, have some extra activities not just studies. Elder one i am keen on CBSE. Some viable options – Amanora Pearson, Vibyor magarpatta, Wisdom world magarpatta, Vidya Pratishtan (do they consider kids living not in magarpatta ? since Amanora is not considered part of magarpatta), New hdfc school, new clara international. Since its a big transition for the kids … I would like to weigh in all the options and select something which makes sense from studies point of view and other wise

      We are staying in Nyati County, I am looking for admission for my son who is 3.5 Years old. Our 1st preference is English Speaking school, Which one would you suggest out of these 3 schools – DPS- Mohammadwadi, Bishops -Undri , St Vincent- Camp.

  24. Hi Madhurie,

    My kid is going to be of 3 Yrs on 4th March 2017(Birth date: 4th March 2014). Currently he’s 2 Yrs 11 Mths.

    I wanted to know in which cycle of the admission process of Delhi Public School, Mohammadwadi, Pune, he’ll be eligible to apply.

    I’m worried if I have missed the November 2016 round of admissions and whether he won’t be eligible for the next round of admissions ie November 2017.

    The Kaveri international school lohagaon is the best school for ICSE board or St Patrick’s school is best.

    Its great to see the efforts you have put in for school reviews in Pune. I am based out of Mumbai, but will be shifting to Pune in April/May’17. My daughter is currently in Class-1 Std., so will be seeking admission in Class-2.
    She has been in Maharashtra Board (Girl’s Convent One), so getting her in any of the boards – CBSE/ICSE/MH is fine, just that it should be English medium and Girl’s school in priority. Apart from the schools you reviewed on your site, can you suggest which one to go for in the below list of schools (These are Girls only convent in Pune I could find. I am not mentioning St. Mary’s in the list as have seen the review of yours.) :

    – St. Anne School, Camp
    – St. Felix High School, Boat Club Road
    – St Joseph’s Convent High School, Khadki
    – St. Joseph High School, Pashan
    – St Helena’s School, Near Camp

    First of all, let me thank you for such a wonderful and informative blog!!

    I am looking for pre-primary school for my daughter, she will turn 3 years in Feb 2017. I stay in the heart of the city, in Sadashiv Peth. My personal preference is to find a good school which can be reached within 30-35 minutes max.

    Following schools I have shortlisted-
    1. SPM (http://www.spmenglishschoolpune.org/)
    2. DES Pre-primary school (http://www.despune.org/des-primary-preprimary-school-tilakroad)

    Can you please help me choose between the two. Or if you have some better suggestions around city center, that would be really helpful. Thanks a a lot in advance!

    This is a fabulous work and initiative !! This kind of work we desperately need in our country.
    It’s very difficult to get the actual picture of the school’s from outside.

    Please see my case and then definitely I’ll consult with you to go to the next step.
    I have 2 daughters studying in 4th grade, pre school in USA, and we are planning to return to Pune for good.
    Elder one has just spent few months in Pune kidszee school at the age of 3. So most of the time she did schooling in US.
    We are looking for good school specially for elder one in Pimple Saudagar area, I read about WWS , Poddar, DAV , Indra girls school., few questions need expert advice:
    1. Not sure which one is good or are there other schools to consider ?
    2. Which board will be good for her.
    3. Is it worth to repeat 4th grade?
    4. Definitely worth if both of my kids can go to same school.

    There are many questions but the above are the most important to start with, so would really appreciate if you can help us here.

    I am looking for a Jr KG admission into a good school in Baner /Balewadi /Sus-Pashan are (Kid DOB is 11th July 2013).
    I am aware of following schools, but need your guidance regarding these and other which you can recommend me – Please.

    2. Akshara
    3. Orchid

    Also, please suggest which is better in comparison between Indira and Akshara , any comparison would help

  35. Hello Madhurie, I had a phone consultation with you last year and I was completely aligned what you suggested. This year as my son got through DPS for nursery. I have also reserved seat for vibgyor magarpatta as they had some offer running. Now I am wondering should I go ahead for DPS? Is it better over vibgyor?

    What is the difference in IGSCE and ISCE board?

    I am seeking admission for my son,DOB 30/04/2012 in Sr Kg 2017-2018. He has done Play Group,Nursery, Jr KR in little millennium hinjewadi. We near in Bhumkar chowk. I want to take admission of him in schools around Hinjewadi, Wakad in Sr Kg. As i feel getting admission in 1st Std will be difficult So i am attemping now.     We arw shifting from kothrud to baner, currently my son goes to sanskriti bhukum, but from baner the distance is much. I m looking for similar school near baner, orchid is too costly.     I stay in Keshav nagar. Currently my daughter goes to potdar jumbo kids, vadgaon Sheri branch. M happy with the school also. Daughter is in Jr Kg now.
    How’s Amanora school , APS Ghorpade, Arnold’s or any other good suggestion. Orbis not at all in mind.

    My Son is in VII Grade Lokseva e School , Pls do suggest me few CBSE schools for 8th grade Admission . Looking for only CBSE with French as 3rd Language
    Preferred Location of Schools are Aundh , Baneer , Balewadi , Pashan , in and around Sus Road .
    We stay @ Sus Road and My first choice is Vikhe Patil .Need your guidance .
